Landmark building set for completion

Gatehaus Bradford

One of Bradford's landmark buildings in the re-birth of Bradford is due to be completed on Monday 22 October.

The Gatehaus, on the junction of Leeds Road and Shipely Airedale Road has been constructed on the former Shipley Paints site in the corner of Little Germany. The £22m city scheme of 140 apartments has a distinctive -fin-like appearance when viewed from a distance. It also holds a promient position on the gateway to the city, giving a much-needed improvement to the arterial path that is Leeds Road.

Russell Baker of Asquith Properties, which developed the scheme, said: "After years of planning and anticipation, the city has a taste of what is to come."

Tony Mobbs, Managing Director of Robinson Design Group, which led the project on architecture and engineer, added: "Working with Asquith Properties on this prestigious project has been a privilege. We are all very proud of the result."
