Midland Mills to convert?

Location of Midland Mills

Another mill conversion in Bradford is on the cards with the likely transformation of Midland Mills.

The former home to the British Mohair Holdings Company is now being redeveloped for use as apartments and retail use, with a detailed plan already submitted to Bradford Council’s planers. The £25m project will, if approved, see 300 apartments and 7,000 sq ft of retail space, along with 90 parking spaces being available.

The mill, which has already undergone significant demolition, is between Canal Road and Valley Road, and would form part of the £400m project to rebuild Bradford Canal. Detailed plans for how the canal should be routed and costed are well underway. More than 5,000 jobs could be created if the scheme goes ahead.

The Midland Mills site, which has stood empty for the last seven years, is being headed up by the Valley Partnership, which includes builder JM Construction and architects Beckwith Design.
